Sourdough Demonstration: So many people feel ill when they eat bread and that is just tragic given how good it is for us. Unless you have a serious gluten allergy, you can eat bread but we should all eat bread that is properly fermented without the addition of vast quantities of yeast, sugar, so called improvers and other unnecessary ingredients. In this demonstration, Jane will talk about the benefits of sourdough bread and how to incorporate baking sourdough bread into our busy lives. She will also bring along some dough and bread to make the experience real for all participants.
Jane Mason is a professional baker, writer and social entrepreneur. Her enterprise, Virtuous Bread, views bread as a catalyst for social change and exists to help people make and find and learn about good bread whilst forging the link between bread and virtue. Although Jane teaches all sorts of bread baking classes, she specialises in sourdough and is extremely knowledgable about the benefits of properly fermented dough believing it is the answer to “wheat belly.”
